Each year, the Think Smartgrids association and its Scientific Council organize a thesis prize rewarding young researchers for the contributions of their work to smart grids and the energy transition.
The Scientific Council of the Think Smartgrids association presents an award during the association’s New Year’s greetings in January, recognizing doctoral theses completed at French doctoral schools or under joint supervision. Three prizes (one for a woman, one for a man, and the jury’s special prize) are open for submissions based on a remarkable technological innovation or scientific advancement related to smart grids. Each of the three prizes includes a €2,000 award, thanks to sponsorship from RTE, Enedis, and EDF.
The selection is made by a jury of experts, co-chaired by Nouredine Hadjsaid, Professor at Grenoble INP and President of the Think Smartgrids Scientific Council; Pierre Mallet, Director of R&D and Innovation at Enedis; and Michel Bena, Deputy Director of R&D at Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE), both of whom are vice-presidents of the Think Smartgrids Scientific Council.
